The Best Packing Material in the World Won’t Matter if you Have Poor Marketing

Stop and think about the flow of traffic you have to your business. Are you happy with the sales you are making? Could it be higher? While there will always be the risk that you end up having more demand then supply, chances are unless you have great marketing that won’t be an issue. I am sure that every business has the dream of a product that is so in demand it just flies off the shelves. On occasion we see it happen with certain new products. How do other businesses do it? Marketing. You need to craft a great marketing scheme in order to reach the right target for your product.
You can have stockpiles of edge protector pieces and cardboard edge protectors collecting dust and custom packaging solutions going to waste because your product is not moving. You do not need to stand for such a situation, however. All it takes is the right marketing to change everything.
First off you need to analyze the target for your product. Do you have cleaning supplies targeted at housewives? Then what about your brand makes it better then the other cleaning supples out there. If you are not targeting housewives then are you looking to sell to cleaning professionals or another niche group? Doing this analysis can help you tailor your marketing correctly.
Once you have your audience figured out you need to look at what you are charging to the products. Are you matching to other guys? Are you over pricing or under pricing? If so what reason do you have for it? Can that reason be a selling point? For example, say you have a green product and it is cheaper to make. You decide to pass on the savings to the customer and under charge the other makers (unlikely, but, you never know) so you add to the marketing that you have a natural formula that is just as effective but cost less to make – and that savings is passed on to the buyer. This may attract the thrifty shopper and the environmentally aware one also.
Knowing these things and crafting a marketing technique on what you have to sell plus who you want to sell it too can cause those dusty edge protector pieces, cardboard edge protectors, and even the custom packaging solutions to become very necessary as items do begin to fly off the shelf.
So take time to really understand what you have to sell and who you want to sell it to. If you cannot craft a solid marketing plan on your own then consult with an expert. Your business is at stake and you should never leave marketing to chance. By having a target to sell to you can tailor your efforts to reach them and hopefully boost your sales. If a professional marketing expert cannot help you make the most of your business then you might need to rethink your product. However, in most cases it is not the product that is a fault, but the marketing that is lackluster.
